Hatchers Solicitors staff recommended by UK Legal 500

A number of staff at Hatchers Solicitors have been recommended by The Legal 500, a well-respected “who’s who” guide to the UK’s leading law firms.

Ann Fisher, Partner at Hatchers and head of the firm’s business law team, received a recommendation for her work in corporate and commercial matters. She was commended for being ‘well experienced, confident and approachable’ .

Partner Nigel Harrison was recommended for the seventh consecutive year for his employment law work as being very professional’ and provides ‘plain speaking, helpful advice’. He is an expert in redundancies, re-organisations and contracts, as well as disciplinary and grievance matters. He is supported by solicitor Jack Latham, who has a strong background in the public sector and supports the firm’s business and employment teams

Esther Richards, Senior Associate, advises on claims against solicitors, accountants, surveyors and architects within the Professional Negligence team, and has also been recommended as one of the Next Generation Lawyers. Associate Solicitor Jennifer Woods, who specialises in contentious matters, is also recommended. Esther heads up the dispute resolution team, supported by Partner Patrick Gittins, who is also a key figure, with notable expertise in claims against solicitors involving mishandled injury claims, regulatory breeches, cost issues and alleged poor service.

The firm is also recommended for its work in agriculture and estates with individual recommendations for Val Edwards, Partner and head of the agricultural team, who has ‘a “can do” attitude’, is ‘a good communicator’ and ‘goes the extra mile to get the right result’, as well as Partner Matthew Bowering, who works on property matters and is ‘pro-active’, ‘a good communicator’ and ‘a safe pair of hands’. Property expert David Phillips regularly works on land acquisitions, disposals and leases and Helen Cowley is an expert in the purchase and sale of woodlands.

The Commercial Property team features in the guide for the first time, with ‘an in-depth knowledge of local markets and an active and friendly attitude to client service’.
