COVID-19 JOB RETENTION SCHEME – update 12th May 2020

Employers may have heard that the Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced today that the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme will be extended for four months until the end of October 2020.

There will be no changes to the Scheme until the end of July, and beyond that (from August to October 2020), the Scheme will allow furloughed workers to return to the workplace part-time with costs being shared between the employer and the Scheme.

Mr Sunak has said that details will be published by the 31st May.
