Hatchers Solicitors recently sponsored a charity concert held by the Shrewsbury Drapers’ Company at Shrewsbury school in aid of the Master’s and Wardens’ chosen charities; NSPCC, Macmillan Cancer Support, and Drapers’ General charities.

Andrew Cross who was elected Master of Drapers in 2012/2013 organised the event with the support of the wardens from Drapers and friends.  A reception of drinks and canapés was followed by a concert by John Moore and talented musicians of Shrewsbury school.

The Shrewsbury Drapers company founded as a Guild by Royal Charter in 1462 and has 80 elected freemen.  The company are very much involved with charitable work, especially managing and supporting almshouses. They are also determined to preserve both their historic links with the town and their ancient guildhall.
Andrew Cross Partner and Residential Property solicitor at Hatchers Solicitors said:

“We were delighted with the response we had to the concert, over 150 people from local businesses and their guests attended the event and we managed to raise over £4,500 for the Master’s charities.

“The charitable work of the Drapers is essential in our local community especially in this economic climate.  I would like to thank everyone who not only attended the concert but for all of those people who gave donations and helped organise the evening and to Hatchers Solicitors who sponsored the event.”
