Hatchers Solicitors recently announced sponsorship of the Sir John Talbot’s Whitchurch 10k, which takes place on Sunday 9th April, and will help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The route is fully accredited by United Kingdom Athletics and will take place on a mixture of closed roads and footpaths. The race will begin and end at Sir John Talbot’s school and will take in the famous Jubilee Park as well as the narrow, winding streets of the town, passing just yards from the front door of Hatchers Solicitors’ Whitchurch office.
As host of the event the school will be the venue for a number of stalls including activities for all the family and hot and cold food and drinks. For younger athletes, a charity fun run is scheduled to take place on the school field, which will provide an opportunity for those aged 3-14 to take part in the day, with different races available for various age categories.
After testing themselves over the route of the Shrewsbury 10k just a couple of weeks ago, a team of colleagues from Hatchers will again line up to compete at this weekend’s race.
The race promises to be a fantastic day for the community, with activities available for all the family. Friends and family are encouraged to cheer on the competitors from the side lines, and are of course invited to be a part of the celebrations down at the start and finish line.
Kate Evason at Hatchers commented “we are delighted to support the Whitchurch 10k in its inaugural year and hope it is the first of many. It is great to see the town host an event that encourages fitness, wellbeing and participation from people of all ages, whilst helping to raise funds for an excellent cause.”
