Sport Relief is hoping to beat the £50.4m it raised on its TV show two years ago in a star-studded night of performances and sketches this evening.

At Hatchers we have had our own Sports Relief efforts. We have held a dress down day, cake sale and a few tabletop football matches. In total we have raised £102.44 which pushes our total raised to date up to £404.89.

Emma Powell, charity organiser said

“It’s been a great day, the sun has been shining and we have eaten enough cake to sink a ship We have raised lots of money for Charity!”

The efforts don’t end here as Emma has been training hard for the Sports Relief ‘Swimathon’ which takes place at Shrewsbury Quarry Swimming Pool on Sunday 23 March. She is swimming 1.5km and she hopes to complete the swim in under an hour. So far she has raised £205 and hopes to have raised more by the weekend.
