Ann Starr was born in Wrexham but had rather a nomadic existence during her childhood. Finally she settled in Shropshire at the age of 17 with her mother before marrying. She started working in legal offices in the late 1970s before having 3 children and returning to it in 2002.

Her hobbies are reading and knitting. She also likes coastal walks with her husband and dog when on holiday.
