Hatchers helping Shrewsbury firm to have its cake and eat it

Hatchers Solicitors has enabled an up-and-coming Shrewsbury cake firm to get its first foot on the commercial property ladder.
The Little Round Cake Company instructed Hatchers to secure the lease of a property on a retail unit at Pensfold Shopping Centre, Gains Park, Shrewsbury.
Providing approximately 1,600sq ft of accommodation, the unit allows the bakery to expand its operation and provides it with further space to not only offer its current selection of various cakes and meringues but to expand its range to include new products as well as operating a 'trendy bakery' to cater for local businesses and residents.

Val Edwards, for Hatchers, said: “It is always a big step when a company takes on its first premises so we wanted to ensure it was as smooth a journey as possible.

“We have built up an immensely positive relationship with everyone at The Little Round Cake Company and look forward to working with them closely in the future.”
Brian Crowther started The Little Round Cake Company in November 2009 from his home in Greenfields, Shrewsbury. With 15 years in restaurants working with some greats brands including Disney World, Carluccios, Wagamama and Krispy Kreme, he decided to set out on his own.
He said: “After a very successful year making and selling cakes throughout the Midlands and Wales we started to stretch the space at home. We have a very dynamic approach to business with several routes to market and innovative product development. The bakery offers a great platform to grow the business and a shop to directly retail through and therefore get closer to understanding our customer needs. Hatchers have been invaluable in helping us secure this.”
