Police unload Andrew at the Castle to face
Jail 4 Bail Magistrates

Criminal lawyer arrested in charity event

The boot was on the other foot for once as one of Shrewsbury’s busiest criminal defence lawyers, Andrew Holland, found himself under ‘arrest’ outside the offices of Hatchers Solicitors on Castle Street and taken to the cells at Shrewsbury Castle.

Luckily, the arrest was just a bit of fun, in aid of Muscular Dystrophy Campaign’s Jail 4 Bail Appeal.

Known to the Shrewsbury police and the courts as a bit of a dapper dresser, Andrew’s ‘crime’ was, in the words of the Town Crier: “To with malice aforethought be guilty of persistently wearing a loud and offensive suit that caused or was likely to cause distress to the sartorially astute denizens of the fair County of Shropshire."

Bundled off to the Castle in a not-so-natty ‘jailbird’ suit, Andrew was still smart enough to bring enough bail money for the Muscular Dystrophy fundraiser to get himself out of jail! Andrew raised £883, more than anyone else on the day, which means sports-car enthusiast Andrew wins a prize of a Ferrari Driving Challenge
